Even a NYC Professor (Justin Long) spends week reconnecting with his family when defending his reputation over controversial behavior at his faculty. Meanwhile, his family is made to make an around-the-clock effort to encourage their matriarch, Agatha (Lynn Cohen), once she is confessed to New York's Presbyterian Hospital and is likely to die within a day or two. No person's tackling this specially well and, each family member is struggling with different issues of their own, to make things worse. Agatha's daughter, Diane (Fran Drescher) is fully unprepared for a lifetime with no mother, and oddly enough, she ultimately eventually ends up finding relaxation in an unexpected place... her ex husband.
