From the run up to the 1972 elections, Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward covers exactly what is apparently a minor breakin at the Democratic Party National Headquarters. He is astonished to discover top lawyers already and also the discovery of addresses and names of Republican fund organizers on the accused further arouses his suspicions. After the editor assigns Woodward and Carl Bernstein to it and of this Post runs with the story, they find that the road resulting higher and higher from the Republican Party--and in the course of time to the White House.
