Primo Levi asserts that a single Anne Frank has a greater impact on us than the countless others who endured the same atrocities but whose faces have stayed hidden. Helen Mirren, winner of an Oscar®, will bring viewers to Anne Frank's narrative through the words of her diary. Set designers from the Piccolo Theatre in Milan will meticulously replicate her room in the secret sanctuary in Amsterdam. This year, Anne Frank would have been 90 years old. Anne's tale is entwined with those of five Holocaust survivors, teenage girls with the same ambitions and will to live: Arianna Szorenyi, Sarah Lichtsztejn-Montard, Helga Weiss, and the Bucci twins Andra and Tatiana. Their children and grandchildren's testimony alternate with their own.
