The story of the movie is broken up into five parts, which correspond to the five seasons found in the Chinese calender. The narrative is set in the jianghu, which can be thought of as the world of martial arts. For a number of years, Ouyang Feng has made his home in the western desert. When the woman he loved decided to marry his older brother rather than him, he had no choice but to leave his home on White Camel Mountain. He doesn't end up chasing glory, but rather a role as an agent. When individuals come to him with the desire to take revenge on someone who has mistreated them, he connects them with a swordsman who is capable of carrying out the task.
