Elizabeth I'm just a two-part 2005 British ancient drama tv miniseries directed by Tom Hooper also starring Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I of England. The miniseries covers approximately the last 24 decades of her reign. Part 1 focuses on the final years of her relationship with the Earl of Leicester, played by Jeremy Irons. Part 2 focuses on her subsequent romance with the Earl of Essex, played by Hugh Dancy.
The series was broadcast in the United Kingdom in 2 two-hour segments on Channel 4. It aired on CBC and TMN HBO in the United States in Canada, ATV in Hong Kong, ABC in Australia, also TVNZ Television One in Newzealand.
The series went on to win Peabody Emmy, along with Golden Globe awards. Helen Mirren starred as Queen Elizabeth II at The Queen, with which the award was dominated by her.
