"FLOWERS" chronicles the lives of six women over the course of three generations (from the Show period all the way through to the present day). Rin (Yu Aoi) is apprehensive about her arranged marriage since the 1930s. A marriage proposal shakes Midori (Rena Tanaka), Rin's professional woman daughter, and Sato (Yuko Takeuchi), Rin's youngest daughter (Yukie Nakama). Sato has Kanna (Kyoka Suzuki) and Kei in the 1960s (Ryoko Hirosue). Kanna is now concerned about becoming a single mother in the future. These women's lives are depicted with grace and beauty.
