A cynical narcoleptic who resides in a flop house-like flat , wyatt, wants to be considered a journalist. His career dreams are nearly dashed when he notices a girl called Fern alive in an 8 8' Toyota Tercel hatchback. Fern's dad went missing and supposed dead when she was a child living in Montana. After getting a mysterious letter from a stranger called Dr. Green, telling her that her dad is living and living in LA, she decides to go look for herself. Together both set off to find Fern's elusive dad among the derelict corners of this town, while developing a interest for eachother across the way.
