David Callaway attempts to piece his entire life together in the wake of his wife's suicide and has been left to raise his nine-year-old daughter. David are at first amused to realize that Emily has created an imaginary friend called'Charlie', but it's not a long time before'Charlie' develops a sinister and violent side, also since David struggles with his son's growing emotional troubles, '' he comes to the frightening realisation that'Charlie' isn't merely a figment of Emily's imagination.
