An affair begins between an Italian man named Giovanni Doria and married American Mary Forbes when she is on vacation in Rome. After her departure from Italy, Giovanni declares his love and wishes she would never leave. Along the way, they'll pass by the station where Mary will board a train bound for Paris, where she'll meet up with her husband and daughter in Philadelphia for the final time. For the sake of this newfound enthusiasm, will she give up her old life?
