In order to explore the effects of weightlessness and radiation on wasps, a test rocket taking them to outer space crashes into the African rainforests. The two astrobiologists in charge of the experiment conduct an expedition to the Darkest Continent in order to collect their experiment, only to discover that the wasps have grown to monstrous proportions and are terrorizing all forms of life as they search for sustenance.
