During World War II, a Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) minesweeping platoon is looking up the Mountain in Italy when they have a panic attack that sends them running around aimlessly in the middle of "no man's land." Cold and hungry, the soldiers who weren't ready have to decide whether to go to military court or go deeper into enemy lines. After a tense talk, they decide to save face with the Brazilian Army by taking on a dangerous military goal: disarming the most feared minefield in Italy. On the way, they meet two other deserters: an Italian soldier who feels bad about leaving his unit and wants to join the Partigianos, and a German officer who is just sick of war. With the help of their former enemy, the soldiers will be able to complete a mission that was thought to be impossible up until now.
