Vic aspires to join the Viking crew on an expedition. However, his father, Halvar, believes that he is too fragile to embark on such a perilous voyage. When Vic's mother, Ylva, is mistakenly transformed into a golden statue by Loki's magical sword, Halvar and his crew are forced to travel to Loki's forges, beyond the edge of the world, in order to destroy the sword and restore Ylva to life. Halvar reluctantly accepts Vic's drakkar ride. Vic will not miss an opportunity to show his father that he possesses the makings of a true Viking throughout this trip full with surprises and risks.
